Kotaku is reporting that some convincing rumors are flying around about an XBox 360 refresh for ‘08 or early ‘09 that ads some things people have been waiting since launch to see in it:

• HD DVD
• 1080p w/HDMI
• Wireless Networking
• dual HD tuners with program guide
• MP3 player dock
• Toshiba is also exploring a 40-inch TV that can dock the 360
• This same TV dock could allow for more hard drive or component swappability

With the PS3 already shipping most of this functionality since it’s launch and already adding PVR functionality, all this change is doing for Microsoft is it will have a console on par with the PS3 by the end of next year… <sarcasm>bravo Microsoft for leading the pack</sarcasm>.

I’m sorry, I have no sympathy for a company that stuffs shit hardware down our throats, then contracts out the support for said shit hardware to India with 1 in 3 devices failing and just shrugs it off.
