Process Lasso Displaying Windows Balloon Tooltips

Grant Gochnauer sent along a heads-up to a pretty kick-ass little Windows utility application named Process Lasso. The purpose of Process Lasso is to manage the priorities and CPU-quotas of all running processes to make sure your computer stays responsive, even in times of trouble (e.g. a single process runs out of control and pegs your CPU at 99% usage).

Process Lasso supports automatically applying general rules across all processes (e.g. “Throttle any process that pegs my CPU for more than 2secs”) as well as specific rules that you can set against particular processes… like telling it to only ever let Firefox use CPU #2 and to never let it use more than 50% of that CPU:

The nice thing about Process Lasso is that this can all be controlled from a nice management GUI and your settings can be remembered and applied every time a process spins up, it’s not like manually using Windows Process Explorer and setting this stuff yourself (you can’t control as much from Process Explorer that you can from Process Lasso)

Big thanks goes to Grant for sending that along, this is a badass little util.

nice utility, it would had helped me back in the days. Norton crashguard was very similar, but didn’t cut it.
