		<description>Actually it was a Dell Laptop BIOS revision update... And Im sure the system is clean. The only other thing, is that going to Windows 7 was an upgrade from Vista ultimate not a clean install</description>

Appreciate the tip -- out of curiosity what was the file that was locked? I can&#039;t imagine explorer locking random files on the disk... might want to virus scan?</description>

		<description>I had an EXE file on Windows 7 RTM desktop that would not delete using normal methods. The file was locked by Explorer and no matter what was tried the file would not delete. The solution is Kill the explorer process in task manager. Leave task manager running click on New Task, type in CMD. CD to the desktop directory and manually delete the EXE file. Restart windows from the command prompt. Shutdown -r</description>
