Oh my god I think my dreams just came true… it seems a company called Nibris is working on an intense horror game, called Sadness, that is for the 21-and-older crowd with “strong nerves and no weak heart” and is working it up to be a real shocker type of game for the Wii by making total interactive use of the Wii controller, here’s a blurb:
Imagine driving away rats with a torch, throwing a lasso over a wall to climb it, or slashing the throat of a persuer with a piece of glass…
The entire game is going to be in black and white, a-la Film-Noir style… how cool.
They had two video links on the game page but neither worked (404s) so I won’t link them here, but suffice to say I’m excited. I love hear-stopping games like this and I’m really pumped to see that companies are taking Mature titles to the Wii and the days of party-games-only are nearing an end (although I play Wii Sports about 10x more than I play Zelda).
Update #1: Boo, looks like this game won’t get made anytime soon. Frontline, the publisher for it, has dropped the game.
