Looks like Vivendi and Monolith have been waging a legal battle over the rights to F.E.A.R. and Monolith won everything except the rights to use the name. So in an attempt to 1-up Monolith and ruin the franchise, Vivendi is releasing “F.E.A.R. 2″ which in fact has nothing to do with the original game… while in the mean time Monolith is working on the true sequel that starts 10 minutes after the 1st game ends… but must release it under a different name.

So true… IP-lawsuits alone probably styme a huge amount of innovation… but then at the same time, without IP-law I have no idea how “the little guy” is suppose to protect himself and his work from huge corporations that can just duplicate it 10x faster and sink them…
I’m sure there is a solution out there, but no one is using it aparently =(
