US Gas Price Heat Map

Matt Young sent in a very cool link over to Gas Buddy, a site that provides a heat-map of the US’s gas prices, so you can get an idea of either how much or how little you are getting screwed.

For our neighbors to the north (no not Seattle) you can get the Canadian gas-price heat map as well.

I don’t know where they are pulling their data from, but it’s a really freaking detailed heat map. I zoomed into Phoenix and got the following:

which looks about right to me. So far Arizona has gotten pretty lucky not adopting the CA gas prices, but we aren’t far behind. Even though I voted on the right that gas would hit $4/gal this summer, it looks like that was an optimistic number… $5 is looking more likely at the peak of June.

Oh and incase you are wondering, I’m sure the oil companies will post record profits again, like magic. I wonder how that works…
