The “Break it Down” Blog

Title is a little over dramatic… but scroll through this collection of police-abuse-videos and see what you think. Please don’t think I’m saying everyone on that page was totally innocent… I can certainly understand if a cop asks some kid to stop skate boarding and the kid flips him off, he’s going to get choked… I’m just curious why there is so much of it going on and some of it so extreme.

Then there are the flat-out-lies (e.g. “It’s an offense to record the police in public”, from the UK below) that just drive me bat shit:

Does anyone else think that this is a side effect of everyone schluffing their responsibilities and blaming everyone else for everything? I’m fat, it’s some huge company’s fault! I’m not smart enough, it’s some vitamin company’s fault! I have acne, it’s some water company’s fault!

I wonder if we have just, collectively, become such a huge group of winey bitches that cops in general can’t handle it anymore. So little shit sets them off.

Thoughts?

Maybe this is no different than it’s always been, except now we have video-cameras in our phones to capture this stuff? I’m sure those will become more limited as time goes on. You doubt it? I am willing to bet $1000 that over the next few years if the powers-that-be stay in power, video capture on phones will be limited to a certain resolution and a certain length of time per clip as more and more phones are used to capture and expose corruption in all walks of life.
