Upcoming Wheelman Looks a Lot Cooler Than I Expected

Gaming

I am rarely re-interested in a game after watching a gameplay video, but the few times that it does get me excited for a title I like to share it with you guys — so you can pass your own judgment on if the title looks interesting or not.

Below are two new movies of a pack of something like 6 or so that Midway released for the upcoming Wheelman game being developed along-side the upcoming Vin Diesel movie of the same name.

I’ve never been interested in the Wheelman series only because it always seemed like played out Grand Theft Auto — or atleast the car sequences from GTA. These gameplay videos though make it seem like the game is a lot more arcade-action than I originally thought.

I would temper my excitement with a nod to the shoddy environment graphics and simplistic design along with the non-open-world thing going. The over-the-top stunts and seeming polished bullet-time mechanism might compliment the more simplistic arcade-y style quite a bit though, you decide:

    Ken,

I know what you mean… there is just too much damn stuff coming out all the time, that’s why I try and only cover the tasty-looking bits here on the site, so folks that don’t have 10+ hrs a week to read through all the upcoming game releases can still stay ontop of what’s cool without digging through endless list of god-knows-what.

I wonder if next-gen gaming is going to be this crazy (constantly inundated with new games) or if it will be too expensive to develop those games so it will be slower… who knows.
