Electronics Arts has announced plans to bring Army of Two to the big screen. Scott Stuber will produce the film through Stuber Productions. Scott Z. Burns has also signed on to adapt the game for the silver screen. Scott Z. Burns is most notably known for his work on The Bourne Ultimatum, which he co-wrote with Tony Gilroy.
The game follows a pair of American soldiers turned mercenaries, who become involved in a conspiracy to privatize the United States military. The game deals with alot of real world events and themes, which could help make the transition to film alot easier.
Army of Two has produced more then $100 Million in sales since it’s release last March. EA and Universal Pictures are expected to begin production sometime in 2009.
Editor’s Note: How in god’s name did Army of Two do $100 million in sales?! Was this a standard-issue game for the Army or something? Man… unbelievable.

I played Army of Two and it was ok, but not good enough to be worth seeing as a movie. I think is sold well because of the promise of 2 player co-op and it released during a slower stretch when not a lot of great games were coming out.
