With only 2 days left in 2008 both Rock Band and Guitar Hero: World Tour released some additional downloadable content.  All seven of the songs released between the two games will cost you $2 each (160 Microsoft Points).

For both Rock Band and Rock Band 2 there are four new songs.

“Space Truckin’”–Deep Purple

“Hymn 43″–Jethro Tull

“Funk #49″–James Gang

“Take Back the City’”–Snow Patrol

For Guitar Hero: World Tour there are three new songs.

“Johnny” – Di-Rect

“Degenerated” – Backyard Babies

“Por La Boca Vive El Pez” – Fito & Fitipaldis

I’m pretty sure these four songs for Rock Band put the total song could between Rock, Rock Band 2, and all the DLC over the 500 count. I know that was the goal that Harmonix was shooting for by the end of 2008.  I’m not sure what their goal is for 2009, but I would not be surprised if they get another 250 songs released next year.
