When I first heard there was going to be an Afro Samurai game (having seen about half of the series) I thought: “How are they going to pull off that gritty feel and still stay with a T-rating?”, well the answer is they aren’t going to go for the T-Rating after all… hell yes.

Looks like Afro Samurai is going to gory… awesome-gory.

From the released screenshots not only does it look like they nabbed the gritty styling with cell-shading and post-processing “gritty” filters, but it also looks like dismemberment is front-and-center.

I’ve never figured out how games can do the whole “samurai” or “sword fighter” thing and skip the gore completely… it’s always driven me nuts, so you can imagine how happy I am when I saw a sword in the screenshots cutting dudes in half.
