Now HBO says it will go Blu-ray exclusive and apparently Universal (the last studio left under HD-DVD) has it’s exclusivity contract come [...]

Engadget HD has the scoop on Bay’s response to an angry user that Transformers was going to be a HD-DVD only release by admitting he had the inside track to the high level politics going on with the studios. Bay claims that Microsoft is sitting in the background pulling the strings and purposefully backing HD-DVD, [...]

Laurence Hartje sends in a note that Boy Genius is reporting that starting November 24th, Wal-Mart will not be discounting the price of the 80GB PS3, but instead allowing you to pluck 10 Blu-ray movies off the shelve (under $30) to take with you when you buy one. They also mention this is in addition to [...]

Well that lasted long, the impenetrable copy-protection for Blu-ray media, BD+, has been cracked by the SlySoft crew and copying/ripping/backing-up/whatevering your Blu-ray media is now fully supported by the software. What I thought was interesting were some of the notes in the Changelog: Note to Twentieth Century Fox: As you can see, BD+ didn’t offer you any [...]
