TechCrunch has the scoop on reports of T-Mobile blocking access to Twitter (user forums, blogs, forums). Some folks are reporting issues with receiving events but the author at TC reported problems sending updates specifically.
For the twitters out there, this sucks… I suppose this is the equivalent of getting your instant-messaging service locked out (but T is SMS-based).
If you don’t use twitter or have no idea what it is, it’s a form of communicating instant-status with your “group” or friends… like “I’m at a movie, watching people DO IT” and your group would get that SMS.
I can think of some lines of work where something like this could be very handy… sucks that T-Mo has decided they are just going to flat out block it, instead of just slow down delivery.
Can twitter be producing that much SMS traffic on T-Mo’s network that they can’t just slow it down but want to flat out block it instead? Hell, for folks that don’t have unlimited SMS-plans, this is probably a gold-mine for T-Mo.
Strange…
