Update #1: When I originally wrote this article yesterday I had BlackBerry on the brain and wrote this as a “BlackBerry rolls out 3G” article… just replace every time I used “BlackBerry” with “T-Mobile”… uggg… I guess doing heroin THEN writing the news is a bad combo?
The ever-awaited T-Mobile 3G rollout has begun with the US, and it’s starting in New York according to BGR. Apparently T-Mo thinks the entire 3G network in all major metro cities will be rolled out by years end… that a lot of fucking network infrastructure to roll out, hook up, and activate in what, 7 months? I don’t think they’ll make the rollout, unless their definition of major cities was New York and Chicago, and that’s it
For the folks that have been waiting for ever for the T-Mo 3G network to rollout, I think we have some nice surprises in the works for us. One of the nice things, technically, with being one of the last guys to roll out a massive tech is that you let everyone else figure out the bumps and burns first.
I’m looking forward to a phone with integrated GPS and 3G.
