Ted Regulski sends in news that Sony is poised to launch a new addition to the PS2’s family of Eye Toy Play games: Eye Toy Play: Hero.

The game will use 1:1 motion-tracking of the player’s movements for sword fighting by way of a florescent green foam toy sword they use to fight with (I’m guessing something similar to how Greenscreen technology works for movies).

Interesting news considering Sony has done almost nothing with the PS3 EyeToy since it was released. Maybe they have something more epic planned for the PS3 and this is just a trial run?

If it is, could you even imagine the next Star Wars game on the PS3, utilizing the EyeToy and motion-tracking to give you true-to-life light saber battles?

Sight me the hell up…

Thanks DarkZero!
