Genetically Modified Super Mice

Scientists working in a US lab have created a breed of super mouse that can “can run five to six kilometres at a speed of 20 meters per minute on a treadmill, for up to six hours before stopping” reports the BBC. The mice are also showing 10x the number of mitochondria in their muscle cells than normal mice. The work was done by modifying the enzyme phosphoenolypyruvate carboxykinases (PEPCK-C) in the mice. The scientists did point out that while the mice’s performance was boosted through the roof, their aggression levels were much higher…

Sooo… just eyeballing the picture there, and summing up the facts presented by these scientists it seems we have:

  • Mice with red eyes
  • Crazy aggressive mice that will shiv you just for looking at them
  • Mice that can run for six fucking hours before stopping

… it sounds to me like this PEPCK-C business is all made up, and all they did is breed some rats and replace their water with anabolic steroids. When you combine that with the elite monkey fighting force India is training, things are starting to look pretty ugly here for us humans.

It’ll start with us bashing them on the heads to stop them…

Huge Water Rat

and eventually end up like this:

Killer Rats

I suppose as Blackwater adds to it’s list of abilities: “Ability to defend and counter attacks from raging onslaughts of demon-animals”, I guess we are still in the clear.
