We’ve been lightly covering Saints Row 2 now since December especially the inevitable comparisons to Grand Theft Auto 4.

The assumption has always been that as soon as GTA4 came out, Saints Row 2 would cease to have a reason to exist, but it’s looking like an extra 8 months of development time with free license to be completely over the top with the gameplay (and involve porn stars in the process) and Saints Row 2 is actually looking to be like a goddamn blast to play with crazy antics to be had left and right.

The first of many “Tera Patrick Dev Diaries” for the game has come out, and while I originally wanted to skip it because I thought it was just going to be Patrick acting sexy, it turns out there is quite a bit of gameplay video in there that I hadn’t seen before that looks most excellent.

One moment in particular that had me snort a laugh out my nose was showing off the crazy character customization features by putting the main character in a hot-dog outfit during a cutscene… just awesome.
