Rock Band 2 Street Date OK to Break

Apparently MTV Games/Harmonix are cool with you getting your hands on Rock Band 2 early (breaking the September 14th street date), giving the player lucky enough to get their hands on it early a little “props” at the bottom of their main menu (See screenshot above).

Pretty cool actually… it’s always nice to see a company that doesn’t respond to enthusiasm by suing their fans.

It’s such a minor thing (just a little text on the home screen) and given that MTV/Harmonix didn’t respond to the announcement at all, I have to assume it’s legit.

I’d also point out that Rock Band 2 already starting shipping out to retailers, so anyone lucky enough to walk into a Target/Best Buy/Circuit City/EBGames/etc. that might have it in stock already might be able to talk the sales associate into giving them one.
