How cool is this, the European publisher CD Projekt (guys behind The Witcher) has approached the owners of some of the best classic PC titles of the past and bought the rights to them in order to port them completely to Windows XP/Vista platform (even re-doing the installers) and then turn around and sell them under the Good old Games site.
For fans of the classics this is “cool enough”, but to even make the deal sweeter, check this out:
- No DRM… at all. These games are completely DRM free.
- $5.99 and $9.99 price points for all games
- Once you create an account and buy the game, you can download and re-download your purchased games as many times as you like… forever.
- No internet connection/activation required
You can sign up to be a Beta Tester for titles as they become available on the main Good old Games website. They are looking to do an official launch this September of ‘08.
I’m sorry, but for a company to financially back this effort to rejuvinate the classics like this and then set a price point that is completely reasonable with no restriction to use at all; we are giving CD Projekt and Good Old Games our

Give me an example of a “FPS SANDBOX” game… you don’t mean a classic sandbox game like Grand Theft Auto do you?
