Kotaku reports that the PS3 2.0 firmware that was a bit lackluster recently, actually added secret hidden developer support for DivX playback. The ability to full on play back DivX media will be exposed in a future firmware update.

So that’s like 7 or 8 of all the major audio and video formats supported on the PS3 and let’s see… WMV on the XBox? Ohhhh BURN!
