With the August Olympics being held in Bejing this year, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has given the go ahead for the first time ever for the athletes the blog about their experiences. Sounds great right? Well a long as you follow some rules:

  • No photos
  • No audio
  • No video
  • Entries are clearly posted as personal or journal-style

Thank for nothing! The IOC says that athletes, coaches, and other team officials aren’t allowed to act as journalists or act in any other media capacity, supposedly to “protect the rights of the accredited media”……<rolls eyes>

If I were an athlete participating in an event with the prestige such as the Olympics, I would be severely disappointed to not be able to share intimate pictures of that event.
