Recently I bought the 3000, after playing on my friends 1000 I decided I liked the PSP. I have not yet noticed any scan lines on my 3000, and I've played quite a few games on it. I guess they are only visible at certain times with certain games, I find the new LCD to be 10x better then the 1000 and it's definitely worth the risk of potential scan lines coming up at certain times.
