Ok so now I’ve had the Wii for a while and I know my previous reviews weren’t that off the charts. So I’m just adding some more thoughts aftering using it in a few more situations.
We went bowling with some friends tonight and came back to the house after. I ended up showing them the Wii with Wii Sports… possibly the greatest group-game ever made. To make a long story short it was a HUGE hit and a total blast to play, Wii Tennis being the winner with Golf/Baseball coming up second as a favorite.
If you have a lot of friends and do a lot of social things I think the Wii is going to pay for itself in fun-money in about a month. If you keep to yourself mostly or just you and your significant other, I think a 360 or something more intimate would be a better investment.
I also want to say since getting the component cables for the set things are looking a lot better… somewhere around 25-30% better as far as image quality. There is a fantastic comparison at GameSpot between the Wii with composite and component cables. Just roll over the pictures to see the difference. Because of the new cables I’ve been getting back into Zelda, and it’s getting a little more fun, but still not mind boggling like I expected. Although to be fair they say the first 6 hours is just introduction and not even story… well I’m at about 8hours into it and it seems it’s getting into story mode even though I’ve already done some cool things, so maybe that’s true.
