Nielsen HD-DVD vs Blu-ray Stats

Engadget reports the stats from the most recent Nielsen ratings and it looks like game-over… game-over man… With a 85/15 split up from the last rating showing a 60/40 split or something like that, I think it’s safe to say HD-DVD is done as far as HD movie media is concerned.

it’s not over til the fat lady sings. you have to remember that it’s going to take awhile to get over the warner bros. buyout.

dale, that’s true. I had some friends at CES that said HD-DVD is going to try and reposition itself as the media-of-choice for PCs… but I don’t see how that would happen as opposed to Blu-ray becoming the ubiquitous format.

I think the studios don’t like the cost of dual-printing movies and that is why I declared HD-DVD dead, they are all to happy to jump on a single bandwagon and focus on that, instead of two technologies.

Same goes for player-makers (except for Toshiba ;) )
