The “Break it Down” Blog

A long time reader, Gordon Walter, sent along information that the Mitsubishi WD-65831 has been reviewed over at Ultimate AV (months after it’s been out now) and is still raking in the praise for it’s HD picture.

After having this TV for quite a few months (the shot above is of standard-def Dr. Phil) now I do have to agree with the review, the quality of the HD on it is phenomenal. After I got a PS3 and was able to play BluRay movies at 1080p I’m absolutely hooked.

A lot of variables go into making a great HD signal, but some of the cleanest 1080p movies I’ve seen on the set so far (Crank and Casino Royale) have been mind blowing. To the point that when we’ve watched them with friends, there has always been someone that made a comment like “OMG you can see his hair follicles!”, without knowing anything about HD, 1080p or any of the fancy buzz words. Just knowing they were watching an amazing picture.
