*sigh*

I don’t know how closely you guys have been following my ongoing TV drama but after putting in the replacement bulb and realizing that the set is screwed up, not the bulb, I’m pooped. I can’t trouble shoot this stupid thing anymore. To recap, this is what is happening:

  1. Watch TV
  2. Turn off TV
  3. Try and turn on TV, LAMP light comes on, indicating LAMP burned out.
  4. Check lamp, it’s fine.
  5. Unplug TV for 5mins
  6. Replug TV
  7. Lamp comes on in the back of the set, you can see it. Also the screen glows a very faint blue (like putting on a blue background and turning the brightness to 0 or something). The TV will sit here like this indefinitely until I turn it on.
  8. Turn on TV, works fine.
  9. Watch TV

Now if you turn off the TV and want it back on again, you have to go through steps 5-9 each time. Fantastic.

I called Costco, told them to come pick it up, I don’t want it. They said no problem and scheduled a pickup. I asked if they could bring a new set and swap it out, she said no, I would have to replace a new order. So with all the turn around time involved (1 month for refund, then 2-4 weeks for new delivery) I’m looking at December before I get the replacement in here. That’s adorable, especially since one of the whole points of this upgrade was to dazzle my parents with Thanksgiving football in HD.

Back to square one again.
