ExtremeTech explains how Microsoft is screwing up the new (XBox) Live on Vista service. Apparently someone over at Microsoft thought it would be a good idea to impose the same limitations on PC gamers that the XBox Live gamers have when subscribing to certain levels of “Live”, namely:
- Silver Membership (Free)
- Â Get a server list, join a game
- Get single-player achievements
- Gold Membership ($50 / year)
- Get a server list, join a game
- Get single-player achievements
- Get multi-player achievements
- Chat with players
- Player matching
So in the face of having a failed platform launch, and competition on the console front from Sony… Microsoft decides to squeeze you and me out of every single red-cent we have, until they are forced to stop. They are normally such a pleasant company.
Seriously? They screwed up a new service or product launch? Weird…
