No more rumors, Logitech’s claim at making “premium components for Guitar Hero” are real and Logitech wants your money this holiday season… they want all of it.
If you are a Guitar Hero fan, you might want to sell some junk to get some scratch together because Logitech has dropped a bomb with their new premium Guitar Hero guitar (for the Playstation 3 according to the announcement).
I really wasn’t expecting to see true instrument mockups occuring this early in the beat-based gaming arena yet, I thought we’d go one more cycle (e.g. Rock Band 3) before seeing these… but they are here, and boy are they awesome.

Update #1: Todd Swarthout just sent in a link to a 7-page DIY guide on taking a real guitar and chopping up your fake Guitar Hero guitar to mod the real one to be a full working gaming guitar.
Do you have a spare guitar to chop up? Do you have tons of time and a lot of tools? Then DIG IN!

Wow. No thanks. For that price I’d can buy 4 or 5 games.

Yea agreed… I thought $70 for the new Rock Band 2 guitars was bad enough. I still do appreciate Logitech making it so shiny and pretty… I’ll let my rich friends get it.

I’m not sure even my rich friends would get it
.
I did end up getting the new RB2 wireless guitar which is nice, but I can’t justify $250. For that price I should get a real guitar and a few lessons.

Hmmm, the ION gives a more realistic drumming experience which can evolve into actual drumming. Of course not in GHWT, as they have effectively dumbed down the ION.
But all this does is looks cool…..
