This is interesting… in the sense that Jack was actually trying to make a point. He feels that the judge covering the case against him practicing law in Florida, is in cahoots with a gay lawyer that owns NationalGayNews. In an attempt to discredit the lawyer and claim that he tries to push pornography on adults and kids of all ages, Jack printed off pictures of the explicit advertisements from the NGN website and submitted them to the court for review.
I can sort of see his point here…
But it seems the judge was not amused at all and is giving Thompson until October 5th to explain why he shouldn’t face sanctions or contempt charges and be sent to the Florida court’s review board.
Part of the hub-bub over this is the fact that all court documents get filed for public review as soon as they are submitted… so now there is pornographic material in the court records for public consumption. Not really a huge deal to most, but I think that’s why this is a bigger deal than simply shrugging it off.
Does anyone else here think this could have been handled more effectively if Jack has just done to lunch with the judge and expressed his concerns to him?
Then again, Jack Thompson doesn’t seem to be the type to do anything with grace or precision.
