Hole-ee-shit, Laurence Hartje just sent in news that the Optimus Maximus is finally here…

You remember this keyboard? We got glimpses of it something like 3 years ago and everyone started to shit their pants, then we all figured it was vaporware or maybe just a really good mockup by a designer? Then last year there were rumors it was coming out, but then those blew away as well…

Well Engadget looks like they got the scoop, it’s real, and it’s $1500 damn dollars. The build quality is apparently impeccable, which is nice for a keyboard that is the same price as a kidney, but I think what everyone cares about are the programmable color keys… it’s certainly slick.
