I just got done watching my first BluRay movie (Crank) on the PS3, and here are my impressions:

Holy Shit!

Sorry for the foul language, but I have no other explanation for you. The level of detail of watching a full 1080p movie on this set was about 15-20% sharper than the best HD-DVD movie we’ve seen so far using the XBox 360 to play it back. The level of detail was AMAZING to the point that you wished it wasn’t so clear because you noticed that Amy Smart and Jason Statham’s skin is just as discolored and marked up as yours and mine… running movies in DVD (low def) was almost like a feel laser peel for these stars… now there is no way to make things look nicer.

I had read this is one of the biggest complaints of moving to HD in Hollywood right now, especially in the porn industry, is that making the stars still look as good as you want people to think they are is getting harder and harder.
