Chris Hunkele just sent me a link to the alternative ending that will be on the DVD and jesus, this really was the more expected/better ending:
NOTE: For folks that want to reply “hey STUPID, endings don’t always have to be happy”, consider the ending of I Am Legend… Ana crawls into a goddamn chimney shoot in front of all infected and waits while they massacre Nevel… is that more believable that they would see her do that, then totally forget to open the chimney flu to look for her? Maybe if they were retarded or lazy, but given the trail up to the end scene, I’d vote “no” on both accounts.

that´s great!
I really liked this ending, but the one I saw in the cinema was not that bad (not so logic though, I´d also vote for “the almost-zombies find Anna and invite her to have dinner”)

Hah, yea exactly. I appreciated what was in the theater for trying to be too serious but I did like the one above a lot more.
