I used just tried the wap.voicestream.com to get the phone to attach to the web again. It works fine, for now, but the box around the E is still missing.

Is that a concern?

I had epc.tmobile.com for a while and it worked, I then switched from blackberry plan to the new tmobile data plan to save money and it stopped working. The wap.voicestream.com works fine now for me.

I’m not sure what’s going on there. What I would suggest is instead of following this 2.0 guide, try our new iPhone 2.1 firmware guide instead. It’s an easier process and will get you updated on the latest firmware.

Also as part of the guide you do need iTunes 8, so that might explain why some information is not readable. As far as where iTunes is keeping your media, check your Library inside of iTunes and right-click on any media that you don’t see on your iPhone and do the “Show Folder” action, it will show you where iTunes is actually storing that file (music, movie, whatever it is).

just i am giving you more detail after reading some of the comments

i did use QuickPwn21-1 and was able to get capacity to 7.1 g ( before upgrading from 1.1.4 to 2.0.2 i was using pc suite and podshare and they work great)

the problem even though that pc suite said it made the transfer(music and video) and that shows in setting about meaning that the capacity went down to 5.3

but when i tried to access the ipod there were no music or video as usual with 1.1.4

i Notice the following when i use itune 7.7:

1- itune error message saying itune cannot read the contents of this iphone

2- in the summary it said name : iphone, but capacity: n/a

3- could not use sharepod anymore cause it gets an error with exception system.io error and it forced me to close it

back to iphone I am not sure where pc suite saved the music and video since it did take 1..2 g from the capacity

you mentioned that i have to copy the mdeia back

i tried, but no lick

do u recommend any program to do that, or any clue why itune can not read iphone

by the way in my computer there are 2 icon for the iphone

1- apple iphone, 2 usb video device

You should have the “Installer” app or Cydia app on there, you can fire them up and search for it.

First, be sure to follow the new 2.1 firmware guide.

Second, you won’t need to reset anything as long as you completely sync the phone before going through the guide with iTunes, and after the phone has been completely reformatted, you click “Restore” in iTunes to restore all it’s settings, data, files, etc. from iTunes (which has a complete snapshot of your phone).

NOTE: At the bottom of the 2.1 guide I show you how to setup the phone clean to remove any cruft from past updates, in that case *yes* you had to set all your email settings back up. The trick is the 2nd to last screenshot:

you just select the 2nd option “Restore from Backup” and bam, iTunes will completely restore your phone to how it was.

I would like to change themes in my iphone…which application Should i use and where I can get that?

WHen I had old firmware 1.1.4, I think I used SMBPrefs for themes change…But now I am not able to get that one.
when I search in Installer and Cydia ,its not showing SMB Prefs.

Can anyone help?
