Update #1: Quantic Dream, creators of Heavy Rain, have released quite a bit more information about the title, screenshots and in-game footage. Head on over here to check it out.
This is a game that I would buy a PS3 just to have. For those of you that played this studios hit title Indigo Prophecy (called Fahrenheit in the UK) you understand why I’m so excited for this. For those of you that aren’t farmiliar with Indigo Prophecy, it is an adventure title using realistic characters/voice acting/animation and story line to tell a twisting and turning story that consists of adult related themes (murder investigations) using tricks like flash back events, lots of cutscenes and “every day life” scenes to tell a story:
The whole pull of Indigo Prophecy was that it was essentially a movie you got to act in and there were scene, definitive scenes, where what you did changed how the game went. There wasn’t just A/B choice like a lot of games claim, but pretty subtle things, like if you didn’t hide the ring in time, then the invetigators would find it and get closer to finding you. The other interesting thing was that you got to play all the characters in the game, not just the main one so you got to effectively investigate yourself
This was also what I loved about Silent Hill 4:
…there is something about mixing sureal events into “normal life” that I absolutely love… it suspends beliefe and makes you sit back and go “What would I do if that happened to me?”
Anyway, here’s the demo teaser from quanticdream that was rolling at E3 this year, go ahead, tell me you are not excited:

Add to the long list of games PS3 promised but never delivered.

Devi,
Please clarify. Which other games were promised but never delivered? All the triple-A titles that were promised are all coming out this year and next.
Also, out of desperation I actually got the ear of someone in-the-know and asked them about this game and they said it is definitely still coming. The company that is working on it likes to take a *long* time with their games, and for E3 2006 all they had made was this trailer from the movie above, so you gotta figure that’s at least another 2 years to do the entire game.
Either way, I’m still holding my head up high.
