GameStop posted their pre-order options for Guitar Hero: Metallica and have given us a little more information about the release. They list the release date as March 29th 2009. I’m a little sceptical of this since there has not been a lot of official news out yet and that is less than 3 months away, but it is very possible that will be the release date.
One of the big differences about Guitar Hero: Metallica is that it will support using double bass pedals. Given the drumming style in Metallica’s songs I’m not sure how you could play some of them without double pedals. GameStop.com lists the pre-order bonus as being an extra bass pedal so if you’re wanting to play the new “Expert Plus” mode with the double bass pedals that will come in handy.
” Reserve Guitar Hero: Metallica and receive a Guitar Hero: Foot Pedal. The pedal comes with a splitter allowing it to be used simultaneously with another pedal. “

Also, a partial track list has been released. The game is suppose to have 45 songs, 28 being by Metallica, and the other 17 songs from bands that are “their personal favorites and influences from over the years”.
Game Informer revealed a partial list of the songs:
