Life & World

Laurence Hartje just sent in news of a story Daily Kos is running on an Ad that Google refused to run in their AdSense network.

The ad is as follows:

Help Impeach Cheney NOW
Nonpartisan, the time is here.
House JC 202-225-3951 Demand ACTION
YaliesorImpeachment.org

Google’s response as to why it wouldn’t run the ad was as follows:

“At this time, Google policy does not permit ad text that advocates against an individual, group, or organization. In addition, this policy doe not permit the advertisement of websites that advocate against a group protected by law.”

Daily Kos points out that how is the vice president “protected by law” exactly? They also point out that Google currently runs ads against the Tobacco industry.

And even more interesting development is that Ralph Lopez of Daily Kos points out, in the same story, that if you search for “support the president” political ads like the following come up just as readily:

Elect More Republicans
The Party of Lincoln, Reagan and You. Support the RNC today.
www.gop.com

The same story from Daily Kos points out that searching for “impeach cheney” or “impeach bush” leads to plenty of political ads in the same vein as the original one they tried to submit and get accepted.

We’ll try and keep you updated with the shenanigans apparently going on… maybe Google Ads just hit their quota of impeachment ads?

Cheney attended Yale University, but he flunked out. Cheney was twice prosecuted for and convicted of drunk driving. Cheney lied to former U.S. House Majority Leader Dick Armey about the grounds for going to war in Iraq. Cheney is a pathological liar. Cheney is incompetent. Cheney would like to think that he is above the law. However, Cheney must pay for crimes against the United States and the world.
