This is pretty damn sweet… TechCrunch has the scoop on the new Google website launched specifically for iPhone users. If you visit www.google.com with your iPhone, chances are you are going to see the new redesigned Google interface with integrated services:
- Search
- Gmail
- Calendar
- Reader
- Docs
- SMS
- Goog-411
- News
- Photos (PicasaWeb?)
- Blogger
- Notebook
It is truly amazing what the iPhone has done to the industry… this (what the iPhone gets) is the type of response when a single vendor can provide a unified platform to the industry to target with a significant enough user base to make it a financially sound investment. That could not have been cheap to pay all those developer salaries to test, work on and deploy this new functionality at Google. Things like this make me think I’ve underestimated the penetration and importance of the iPhone beyond just being a “pretty cool phone”.
Now I’m even more curious to see what Android (gPhone Platform) does…
