The “Break it Down” Blog

If you are wondering what that chat-box-looking-thing on the right hand side of the screen is, that’s the Google Friend Connect members widget.

We’ve decided to give Friend Connect a trial run for about a month and see if it ads values to the Break it Down Blog community. The purpose of the service is to bring social networking features like friends lists, conversations, relationship networks, etc. to the internet at-large.

The idea being that you could find other sites you might like through members of this site, be-friend members who’s tastes you agree with, invite your friends to Break it Down Blog because you think they might like it or just get a chance to chat with others like-minded folk.

If membership starts to pick up during this month we’ll look at rolling out some of the more social widgets like chat and a wall for you guys as well. We just wanted to make sure that everyone liked the changes first before plastering down the right hand side of the page with a bunch of random widgets.
