FootNotes is asking for screenshots of your 2.15.x or 2.16 beta desktop to be included in the new GNOME 2.16 release notes showing off some of the new features. You can make your submissions here, but you can check out the submissions people have already posted here.
One that really struck my fancy was the “Ubuntu Linux Vista Professional” by CentralX. How cool looking is this:
The best part of it all is that he got it all working together using Gnome/XGL/Compiz/CGWD.
For those not in the know (I just had to hunt for this), CGWD is short for “custom-generic-window-decorator”, which is a replacement for the not-very-helpful gnome-window-decorator program you run when you use XGL to theme your windows. CGWD was created by QuinnStorm (original announcement).
