This isn’t the re-imagined Prince of Persia from 3 years ago that resulted in 3 sequels, or even the re-imagined-classic one that was on Xbox Live last year, nope… this is a re-re-imagined version from Ubisoft whose art direction I find breathtaking.
I’ll be honest, I’m not that jazzed by the gameplay, I don’t care for the incessent scaling of walls and dodging random runs of sawblades embedded in walls (I only tollerated it in God of War because there were boobs and gore), so these games aren’t really targetted at me, but the one thing I feel obligated to promote about this game is the incredible art work.
The first time I saw a screenshot from this new Prince of Persia, I honestly thought they were all mockups or artist reditions of the style of the game they wanted… I had no idea until I saw some of the gameplay video that they actually realized that level of artistic fidelity and creativity in a 3D engine already, it’s just beautiful.
I know that the PS3’s Naruto title and to a lesser extent Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit all pulled off the stylistic cell-shaded look well, but not like this I don’t think… not to this degree, and that’s why I feel obligated to share it:

I can’t find an official credits list anywhere, but the voices sound so similar to me, as I felt that Nolan’s personality behind the Nathan character in Uncharted was one of the best aspects of that game (the other characters were perfectly cased as well, but as far as witty-go-lucky-adventurer goes, Nolan nailed it).
Thanks VE3D!

Agreed, it’s truly beautiful. It seems to me that after Ubisoft pulled off Assassin’s Creed and blew everyone away, they have just been reaching for the stars and hitting them ever since.
Really looking forward to their Fall lineup.
