I got this email in my inbox late last week, but hadn’t taken the time to read it just yet because it seemed… heavy… like it required brain-thinking, and I wasn’t ready to provide any brain cycles to process it.
So here’s the deal… Garrett Lisi is the guy in the picture above. He’s a surfer and a snow board instructor that has a Ph.D. in physics… so he’s smart as hell.
It seems that Lisi had a moment of clarity and break-through when he realized all of the 4 major forces in nature (Gravity, Electromagnetism and the Strong and Weak nuclear forces) can be related and mapped to one another using the E8 lattice structure… an 8-dimensional structure that the forces can be mapped to, then rotated to see how they relate.
Here’s a video of it in action:
While some other researches are still skeptical, the consensus seems to be that Lisi has made a break-through of some kind here that should help the science of understanding these forces along by leaps and bounds.
Lisi is personally waiting for the Large Hadron Collider, built on the Swiss-French border, to help discover the gravity-related particles necessary to make more headway in understanding the design he is proposing.
Overall, some pretty intense stuff for you science folks out there.
