Humor & Fun, Technology

Every once in a while an application gets an update that is so incredible… so intense… so advanced, that it blows your mind… or is 2.6 Terabytes ;)

While this is of course just a text snaffu, it gave me a good chuckle. After applying the update to Foxit Reader I was happy to see that it has a streamlined interface making it a bit sexier while still maintaining the tight footprint that makes it my preferred PDF-reader choice over Adobe’s Acrobloat Reader (did you see what I did there? That was a lame-burn right there…)

I’m a big fan of Foxit Reader. I’m really glad they added the Firefox Plugin. It is nice to be able to use Foxit without first saving the PDF to my drive.

@Jigsaw hc: The only problem with opening up PDF’s directly in Firefox, is that they add to the temporary file cache. If you don’t clear it regularly using CCleaner or something similar, you will experience a decrease in performance.

In contrast, if you save the PDF and then open it, the PDF is never added to the temp cache. I prefer this method to having to constantly clear the FF temp files and cache. Still, it is nice to have the option to open up directly in browser.

@nka - I don’t open a lot of PDFs and I do use CCleaner pretty often so for the few I actually do open it is nice to be able not bother downloading them if it is not something I’m going to need more than a few minutes.
