Lion Head has announced that the co-op “patch” for Fable 2 has been certified by Microsoft and all is green-lit; so when you buy Fable 2 on October 21st and pop it into your Xbox 360 to play, you’ll see the all-to-common “There is a patch available for this game, would you like to apply it now?” prompt.

In addition to co-op being ready to go, early reviews of Fable 2 are suggesting that Lion Head may have actually nailed it this time, averaging a 94% score right now.

EuroGamer had a fairly in-depth review for folks that are interested, however I would sprinkle the raving pre-release reviews right now with a bit of “wait and see” for folks that are starting to hyper-ventilate. Publishers no longer hand off early pre-release copies for review to random review groups, they only do it for publications that agree to lavish their titles with praise, so the real score might be more along the lines of a 80% after things settle down.

If you are on the fence, our suggestion is to wait and see.
