Looks like offline co-op is an option, and you can play with a friend on a single console at home.

Good Q, as far as I can see (scouring online) there was no reference made to offline co-op *yet*.

That means 1 of two things:
1) They want to surprise people closer to launch
2) It’s not implemented yet in the game and there is a possibility that it might still get cut so they aren’t talking to it.

The game still has a ways to go before it’s release, so hopefully it will get in there.
