Todd Swarthout sent in news about the kickass announcement that Amazon’s MP3 service now offers DRM-free music from all 4 of the major music labels as of January 10th!

  • Sony BMG
  • Warner
  • EMI
  • Universal Music

This is in a followup to the news we reported on Amazon recently securing contracts with Sony BMG and Sony BMG, before that, decided DRM was for the birds anyway.

I personally had no idea, a year ago, that I would be saying “Oh yea, Amazon will be the biggest competitor to iTunes” if someone had asked, but it’s pretty kick ass that they are, and it’s all DRM-free media and syncs with any music device you have… not just your closed-platform proprietary iPod (that was an Apple-burn BTW)

Go Amazon!
