So you’ve heard the techies say to you for years now, but you never understood why (that goes for me to): “Don’t use Windex or anything else to clean your HDTV screen!”

I really wish there were a warning somewhere prominent on the box… how’s this for a warning on a $4k TV:

Mitsubishi WD-65831 Windex Screen Damage Mitsubishi WD-65831 Windex Screen Damage

What you are seeing is Windex that has seeped to the bottom panel of the TV, then gotten wicked up between the layers of the screen. No fix for that, need to get the TV services or the screen panels replaced.

Just remember, if you need to clean your screen, use a dry towel or if necessary, a slightly damp micro-fiber cloth or nice soft towel. Don’t use paper towels or anything else abrasive.
