In a bid to make me throw up and hate him forever Jens Eckels has showered me with images of people with diabetic ulcers.
What’s a “diabetic ulcer”? It’s this:
and yes, just incase you are curious (or NOT throwing up blood) that is the fatty tissue on his foot dissolving away into an open-body sore.
Maybe that doesn’t look to bad to you… just a flesh wound, something you might throw a Hello-Kitty band aide on? Then what about this one:
Yep… that’s a goddamn ulcer right through someone’s fucking heel to their bone… and the black I can only imagine is cauterization done to keep the open wound from constantly bleeding…
If these images did anything other than make me hate Jens… it has made me want to start jogging 25 miles a day and eating nothing but broccoli… mother of god…

OMG.. I’m going to wash my brain out with soap.. How does diabetes do this?

It’s fucking insane… it’s totally death by 1000 pin-pricks… first the sensations/nerves in your limbs start to get damaged over time, getting tingly and finally loosing sensation.
Then bloodflow becomes a problem… soon after that, even the smallest injury can become a massive infection or site of rot as there is no blood flowing threw keeping the skin healthy… it’s takes years and years and years and is terrible.
The worst is when I see diabetics that are still 100s of lbs overweight, eating fast food, getting maggot treatment or heavy antibiotics… and they don’t excercise or eat any better… it’s like watching someone just kill themself for no reason.

OMG.. SO BAD! It amazes me how people can just let themselves go as if they don’t care about themselves at all. It’s pretty sad.

the black is not bloody tissue, it is necrotic tissue. Necrotic tissue os dead tissue and that will not heal until it is removed.
