Looks like the pirate group “NoPE” has released a completely cracked install of Vista. It’s not just deferring the activation, or tricking it… it seems it’s a totally active copy of Vista that needs no activation. Updates and other system/security features all work.

I actually own Windows Vista Ultimate so I haven’t tried this out, but The Inquirer reports some readers say it worked without a hitch.

For the conspiracy theorists out there, anyone wonder if Microsoft would leak a pirated copy of it’s own OS in order to speed adoption of an otherwise sluggish release. Then in a few years throw a lock down on that build specifically because it can at that point? I think they would personally… but that’s only because it’s a company run by total shit-bags.
