If you went and saw Cloverfield this weekend (lucky!) you may have stayed through the credits and heard the scratch “Help Us” at the end… Dave Bullock sent in the scoop that if played backwards it sounds like “It’s still alive!”, check it out.
I’m not sure if I buy this… they sound very different to me, but knowing the crew that did the movie, it’s pretty likely.

…Do you honestly believe if you play “Help us” backwards, it says “its still alive”? If there IS any thing else it would have been hear able, but backwards. Its a hoax.

Jesus,
I *sort of* agree… it’s just how they say “Help Us”… it’s not normal at all.. it’s really gargley and weird sounding, which made me think it’s possible it’s something else backwards.

Mabey I should have stayed for the credits! I saw the movie the day after it came out and the monster wasn’t at all what I expected. Any way I’ll see what else I can find on the matter, thanks.
