I’m all for huge corporate visual overhauls. Now adays they take months to roll out and usually stay in service for a decade, but what happens when one company’s site redesign is so epic that it can’t even be measured? That’s what happened with IMDB.

If you visit IMDB you’ll see the same old site we’ve always seen for like 15 years now:

but if you look up at the top of the page, there is a big link for “Preview IMDB’s new look!”, when you click it… get ready for your face to melt off:

That’s right folks, IMDB’s site redesign basically redefines the Web, and if you can’t see the difference between the two layouts then you just aren’t cool enough I guess.

P.S.> If anyone actually knows what the difference is between these two layouts, we’d love to know.

For the Crysis fans out there this is a series of goofy Robot-Chicken-esque movies put together by spike800 using the Crysis Sandbox editor. Little scene after little scene with something crazy set to music and sound bites, I found them entertaining. If you dig those type of Gary Mod craziness videos or insane-physics movies from Crysis I think you’ll dig them.

So I was looking on Netflix to see how I scored Hitman after a friend asked me about it, and noticed down in the “More Like This” section where Netflix recommends more movies to you… it was telling me if I liked Hitman (Action movie, gore, full frontal nudity) that I might like Cesar Milan: Dog Whisperer… now I’ve actually watched a season of Cesar Milan, and I don’t remember any of those things (action, gore, nudity) happening… maybe I should have watched Season 2?

In all seriousness Netflix’s recommendation system is usually as good as Amazon’s I find, which is surprisingly good.

NPR reports that Joshua Klein has trained crows to retrieve spare change and drop it off at a receptical in exchange for a peanut.

Apparently Josh (J-Dogg I call him) found crows to be the fastest to adapt to this system, figuring it out almost immediately. Here’s a quick 1 min talk J-Money gave on the crows:

If your as big of a fan of Portal as we are, you all know what the “Still alive” song is. This week it was announced that the song will be available for Rock Bank. Well at the Game Developers Conference on Friday, Jonathan Coulton performed a live demo.

A long time reader just sent in a fantastic link over to Scott Adams blog (creator of Dilbert) where he asked his readers to submit portions of a song with lyrics that were nonsensical but almost made sense, which seems to be the case with most pop-songs.

Anyway, they did and then the German band RIVO DREI took the lyrics and actually made a badass song out of it: She Amazed Me

The best is this fan video of it on YouTube that associates the lyrics to funny pictures all the way through, really punctuating how retarded the lyrics are, but you wouldn’t otherwise notice it because the song itself is pretty damn catchy… check it out:
